Joe Lazzaro

Joe was born on December 1st 1928, in Capo D’ Orlando Sicily. He was brought to America as an infant and settled into a small home on Booth St off of Burleigh St. He attended grammar school at Pierce St. school and later Boys Tech High School were we studied drafting and electrical design.

Joe was hired right out of High School to begin his 39 year career at Cutler Hammer now Eaton Corporation. Joe had a two year break in his career when he was invited by Uncle Sam to join the army in 1951 where he served most of his time in Alaska.

On April 18th 1953 Joe married Anna Armenio. They had two children Charles and Mary. Joe remained married for 63 years until Anna’s death in 2016.

Joe joined the Pompeii Men’s Club around 1990 and served many years as Sargent at Arms. He remains active in the clubs activities and still volunteers for several fund raisers such as the 5K Run and the St. Joan Antida High School spaghetti dinner where he rolls meat balls. Joe still loves attending the PMC monthly meetings.
